Vanguard Systems & Services International LLC conducts Skid Resistance Inspections for monitoring road surface conditions in the Sultanate of Oman. In the picture above, we see representatives of Oman’s Ministry of Transport and Communications, Muscat Municipality, Royal Oman Police, and Oman Road Safety Association all gathered around OP2 North roundabout to witness this technology being done for the first time on the Sultanate of Oman’s roads. The Inspection Engineers report that the results of the inspection indicates that this recently built road (Roundabout, Overpass, and Entry&Exit ways) complies with both the Local and International standards when it comes to Skid Resistance levels.

4 Year LTIF award by PDO for Airport Maintenance Contract
VSSI has been awarded by PDO a 4 years LTI free award for executing the job in compliance with all PDO and Oman HSE regulatory requirements.
This has been evident with the operations taking place without any HSE incidents.
The award was presented by the PDO Well Engineering and Logistics Director
VSSI has been awarded a 5 year contract by Occidental Oman to carry out their 6 monthly Friction Test in the Mukhaizna Airport Runways.
Friction testing establishes the current Grip Number value as per Oman Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) and ICAO requirements for safe friction values on Paved runways.
VSSI Friction Tests are carried out using the state of the art Continous Friction Measuring quipment manufactured by Findlay Irvine of the UK.
VSSI is the approved agent for Findlay Irvine in Oman.

VSSI has just been awarded a 3 year contract by APPLUS VELOSi in Oman for the provision of Hybrid Acoustic Technology System (HATs) services for the inspection of Static Assets to establish Fitness for Service (FFS) to be performed for Occidental Oman Mukhaizna assets.
VSSI has carried out several inspections for Oman Refinery and Petrochemical Industries Company in Oman and, with our Sister concern MRA, is carrying out inspections extensively for Petronas Carigali, Saudi Arabia SABIC among others.
The Technology is based on Non Intrusive Hybrid Acoustics and thus best suited to assets that are in the operational phase. HATS provides the Size, Severity, Number and classifies the anomalies according to the mechanism of the anomaly eg. corrosion, metal loss, cracks etc..
HATS can cover a distance of upto 2 kilometers of continuous pipe inspection without the need for intermediate excavation or multiple inspections along the length of the pipe.
HATs is not limited by the size, thickness or orientation of the pipe HATs is only limited to metallic assets only.
VSSI achieves 7 years Lost Time Incident Free LTI status on 31st March 2016.
VSSI has been operated 7 years without any Lost Time Incident for BP Oman Epsilon operations on Block 61.
Since VSSI started operations for BP during the Early Well Test phase and through the main development period whereby VSSI has been producing desalinated water for their Frac operations and recently for their Full Field Development activities.
VSSI was congratulated by BP senior management and issued a Plaque for this commendable achievement.
VSSI and BP contributed towards tokens of appreciation for the personnel involved and they were issued with quality T-shirts, Jackets, Omr 100 vouchers each for 25 personnel to spend at a shopping centre of their choice.
VSSI Board thanks its personnel and BP for this achievement and urged them to always keep an eye out for each other on HSSE matters.
