INTRODUCTION
Valves are mechanical devices that controls the flow and pressure within a system or process.
Most of the products are ferrous and paramagnetic based materials.
Due to different dimensions in original line, the different turbulence in valve will create internal loadings from the products transfer which lead to velocity impact on the internal system and the parent metal of valve body.
This can lead to the failure of valves to be functioning as the mechnical devices which control the flow and pressure within a system or process.
Hence, HVIT is designed to provide a solution in assessing the integrity of valves based on passing and stress conditions which has been experienced during the operation of the system.
EVALUATION OF METAL LIMITING STATE
The structure Born Noise is developed due to movement of the product. It is the rapid release of energy from a mateiral under stress.
AE may be generated by propagating Cracks, Active Corrosion % Turbulent Flow.
The system detects the leak “hiss” caused by turbulent flow, which is measured in dB (AE)
Points (+) show the points of conventional NDT using UT, hardness measurement, ET. The points (+) have been inspected for Stress Concentration Zones detected by MMM.
MMM inspects circumferentially for 100% coverage area to cover all the potential defects
Based on MMM,cracks were detected in between the inspection points of NDT.
MMM technology is used to assess the stress condition in determine the weak area in material based on established correlation between accumulated stress-strain state that has been experienced by ferrous/ paramagnetic material with the uniformity of natural magnetic fields distribution.
Prior to taking any inspection work, desktop review is a crucial process in understanding the process and design mechanism which can assist the team in establishing the potential damage mechanism before conduction the inspection work.
